Fatigue, swelling and breathing problem are the chief symptoms of heart failure. After doing regular physical activity, the patient experiences much more exhaustion. In the embryonic stage, the symptoms of heart failure are mild, but by the time the disease starts taking a critical shape, the symptoms of heart failure also turn to be harsh. While performing minor activities such as changing clothes or taking bath exhaust the patient to a higher level. [1] Feeling of fatigue even without any activity and getting difficulty in breathing are the advanced symptoms of heart failure. From the medical angle symptoms of heart failure vary from level to level. It can be classified into the following four parts.
Excessive fatigue:
Everyone experiences tiredness with age, but when it comes without getting old, it gives an inkling of heart failure. The patient remains tired even after getting rest of a couple of hours. Lack of oxygen is the main reason of this sluggishness and one of the most prominent symptoms of heart failure.
Peripheral edema:
Symptoms of heart failure include the swelling of legs and ankles, which is medically termed as peripheral edema. [1] Ineffective pumping of blood leads to storage of blood in the lungs that affects kidney also. This causes swelling in legs and ankles.
Pulmonary edema:
Pulmonary edema refers to breathing problem. This happens due to the obstruction of blood in the lungs. The patient feels dumpiness of breath. The trouble takes even a more critical shape at night. [1] Many times this congestion leads to spontaneous death of the sufferer. The profound understanding of the symptoms of heart failure is inevitable to cure it.
